Kori Hines (she/her)

Biography

As a Kansas City native, Kori is now a proud Roo, enthusiastically supporting the academic journeys of UMKC students.

With a passion for education, Kori is pursuing an Educational Doctorate (EdD) in Higher Education Administration in UMKC’s School of Education, Social Work, and Psychological Sciences. Kori has earned a Master of Science in Elementary and Special Education from Pace University (New York) and the Progressive Education Institute, preceded by a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Writing with Minors in Communication and Women’s/Gender/Sexuality Studies from Rockhurst University (Kansas City).

In advising students, Kori is an educational advocate, a connector, and problem-solver who encourages students’ individual growth and our collective success as an academic community. Prior to serving students as a Senior Academic Advisor, Kori taught students in Kansas City and New York City as a classroom teacher. In her free time, Kori can be found in a rocking chair on her front porch, snuggling with her chihuahua.
