Scheduling Appointments

Schedule your 30- or 60-minute, one-on-one consultations through RooLearning+. You must sign up at least 24 hours before the appointment time. While we offer 30-minute appointments, we highly recommend you schedule 60-minute appointments. To do so, you will need to schedule two back-to-back 30 minute appointments in RooLearning+. Please note students are limited to scheduling a maximum of 60-minutes in a day and a maximum of 3 hours per week. However, there is no limit to attending drop-in hours.

Once you’ve scheduled your appointment, you will receive a confirmation email. If you’ve scheduled an online appointment, your tutor will also follow up with an Outlook calendar invite, which will include the link to join the tutoring session.

To ensure the quality of our tutoring, all online appointments will be recorded by the tutor.

For questions about making appointments or understanding how we use RooLearning+ for tutoring, please contact us at 816-235-1179 or umkctutoring@umkc.edu.

Missing Appointments

Students may miss a total of 3 scheduled appointment hours per semester without being penalized. After a student misses 3 scheduled appointments, they will be unable to schedule tutoring appointments for the remainder of the semester. However, they will still be able to work with us on a drop-in basis.

Canceling Appointments

If students need to cancel an appointment, we ask that they do so at least 3 hours prior to the scheduled appointment time. If the appointment is canceled with less than 3 hours notice, it will be considered a missed appointment and follow our missed appointment policy.

In-person Drop-ins

In-person drop-ins are held at Miller Nichols Library (MNL), Room 420. Visit the RooLearning+ website at https://umkc.tedu.app/student, or download the iOS or Android app, to find the hours for your courses.

Virtual Drop-ins

Virtual drop-ins are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Log in to RooLearning+ (link above) to join the queue for tutors who support your course.
