This course explores the spectrum between basic biological research and bedside clinical practice, delving into the topics “what is translational research?” and “how does a drug get to the market”. By engaging with people from the community involved at all levels of translational research, students will gain an appreciation for the civic issues behind medical research, the interdisciplinary nature of research, and the part that Kansas City institutions play in regional life and health sciences. Prerequisites: Anchor I, Anchor II. Co-Requisites: DISC 300.
