Future Roos

Finding the college that’s right for you is both exciting and stressful under normal circumstances. We’re here to help you have a meaningful experience with our Roos so you can determine whether UMKC is a good fit for you.

It’s our main priority to provide you a meaningful campus experience in the safest environment possible. While the circumstances of COVID-19 have impacted how we connect with each other, UMKC can still connect you with current students and staff to share information, answer questions and showcase all that UMKC has to offer!

How can I visit campus?

Time and time again, our students tell us their campus visit sealed the deal for them at UMKC. During COVID-19 we've expanded our virtual visit options though we still have in-person visits and tours available.

If you want to visit us in person, you can choose a date and time that works for you. We cannot guarantee an appointment for those who walk-in without a scheduled visit.

What if I’m scheduled to attend an on-campus event?

To help keep our campus community healthy, follow the tips on Health and Safety, including:

  • Wear a mask on campus. For more specific information on masking, visit the Health and Safety page.
  • Follow basic personal health guidelines, like covering your cough and washing your hands.
  • Monitor your symptoms daily and stay home if you have any symptoms. If you have symptoms, have tested positive, or have been around someone who has tested positive, then send an email to the staff or faculty person you were supposed to have a meeting with and let them know you will need to reschedule. And contact your health-care provider to discuss symptoms and testing.

If you develop symptoms or test positive for COVID within two weeks after visiting campus, or meeting any Roo faculty, staff or students in-person, follow the advice of your local health-care provider and cooperate with public health officials who will need more information from you in order to initiate contact tracing.

Email: finaid@umkc.edu

Online appointments will be held via Zoom meetings. In-person meeting space is limited to ensure appropriate space for social distancing. Plexiglass has been installed to serve as protective barrier and hand sanitizer will be readily available.

We also know many students simply need to drop off forms or documents for our office to review. If you are on campus, you can use the drop box located outside of our office. We highly encourage students to submit documents using the new Secure Document Uploader tool in Pathway (which should be available for students who have already been admitted to UMKC and have set up their UMKC accounts).

To access the tool:

  1. Login to Pathway with your UMKC Username and Password
  2. Click on Student Center
  3. In the upper, right-hand corner, click the Secure File Upload button
  4. Select the Financial Aid Office in the Office/Department drop-down
  5. Select the Document Type you are uploading
  6. Enter any Comments/Notes you’d like the Financial Aid Office to know
  7. Click Add Attachment
  8. Locate the file on your device
  9. Click Upload

A confirmation email will be sent once your document has been received.

Please contact the Financial Aid Office directly at 816-235-1154 or at finaid@umkc.edu if you have any questions.
