Future Roos

Finding the college that’s right for you is both exciting and stressful under normal circumstances.

It’s our main priority to provide you a meaningful campus experience in the safest environment possible. While the circumstances of COVID-19 have changed what we can offer in terms of on-campus visit options, we can still connect you with current students, rely on staff to share information and answer questions, and showcase all that UMKC has to offer.

We’re here to help you have a meaningful experience with our Roos so you can determine whether UMKC is a good fit for you.

How can I visit campus?

Time and time again, our students tell us their campus visit sealed the deal for them at UMKC. During COVID-19 we've expanded our virtual visit options though we still have in-person visits and tours available by appointment.

If you want to do an in-person visit or tour, you are required to register for an appointment and agree to COVID-19 visit policies for in-person visits and tours (e.g. wear a mask, maintain 6-feet physical distancing, etc.), and we cannot guarantee an appointment for those who walk-in without a scheduled visit.

What if I’m scheduled to attend an on-campus event?

Most on-campus have been cancelled. However, if you are unable to schedule a virtual meeting or visit and have an in-person event, you need to our campus guidelines.

To help keep our campus community healthy, follow the tips on Health and Safety, including:

  • Wearing a mask on campus. Masks are required.
  • Follow basic personal health guidelines, like wearing a mask, covering your cough, and washing your hands.
  • Follow physical distancing guidelines around campus, including spacing in offices and classrooms, signage at elevators and stairs, and remaining six feet away from others.
  • Monitor your symptoms daily and stay home if you have any symptoms. If you have symptoms, have tested positive, or have been around someone who has tested positive, then send an email to the staff or faculty person you were supposed to have a meeting with and let them know you will need to reschedule. And contact your health-care provider to discuss symptoms and testing.

If you develop symptoms or test positive for COVID within two weeks after visiting campus, or meeting any Roo faculty, staff or students in-person, follow the advice of your local health-care provider and cooperate with public health officials who will need more information from you in order to initiate contact tracing.
