Construction Update

The front entrance with parking at the UMKC Administrative Center is closed for construction. Please use the entrances on the east, south and north ends of building. The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships will remain open for calls and email. UMKC Central will be relocating to its new office in Atterbury Student Success Center from July 27 to August 14. Walk-in services may be limited or not available during that time.

Complete Entrance Counseling

  1. Go to the Federal Student Aid website.
  2. Click Log In
    1. Sign in using your FSA ID and Password (the same login used to file the FAFSA)
  3. Click on Grants and Loans

  4. Select the appropriate start button for your student type

  5. Under Notify a School, make sure to include University of Missouri - Kansas City (UMKC)

Complete Master Promissory Note (MPN)

Once Entrance Counseling has been completed, you must also complete a Master Promissory Note for each type of loan you have accepted in your award offer (Subsidized/Unsubsidized and/or Grad PLUS).

  1. Go to Federal Student Aid website.
  2. Click Log In
    1. Sign in using your FSA ID and Password (the same login used to file the FAFSA)
  3. Click on Grants and Loans

  4. Select the appropriate start button for your student type
      1. Graduate and Professional students will select MPN Type, depending on if they are completing a MPN for an Unsubsidized Loan or a GRAD PLUS Loan.  Graduate students pursuing both must complete both types of MPNs.
    Two options to choose an MPN: I'm an Undergraduate Student with a Start button, and I'm a Graduate/Professional Student with a Select MPN Type button.
