Construction Update

The front entrance with parking at the UMKC Administrative Center is closed for construction. Please use the entrances on the east, south and north ends of building. The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships will remain open for calls and email. UMKC Central will be relocating to its new office in Atterbury Student Success Center from July 27 to August 14. Walk-in services may be limited or not available during that time.

Grants

Grants are a type of financial aid that helps you pay for tuition, books, housing and other school expenses. Grants come from the federal government, state government and your institution — UMKC— and generally don’t need to be repaid.

More About Grants

Most grants are available only to undergraduate students working on their first bachelor's degree. You only have to pay back a grant under a few conditions, including if you withdraw early from your program or change your enrollment status.

Grant Eligibility

Eligibility requirements vary by grant; however, most grants require you to have a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file. Some grants may require a separate application.
