Construction Update

The front entrance with parking at the UMKC Administrative Center is closed for construction. Please use the entrances on the east, south and north ends of building. The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships will remain open for calls and email. UMKC Central will be relocating to its new office in Atterbury Student Success Center from July 27 to August 14. Walk-in services may be limited or not available during that time.

Nonresident Scholarships

Automatic Scholarships

Students who are not Missouri residents may receive awards that reduce tuition and fees to resident amounts. We also offer special rates for Kansas and some states in the Midwest.

Students will be matched with the highest possible automatic award and based on the information you submit when you complete the apply to UMKC. Only students admitted beginning in Fall 2023 going forward are considered for these awards.

  • Roo Nation Scholarship
    • Nonresident tuition differential
    • Newly enrolled nonresident undergraduate students that apply by April 1st (limited number available)
    • High school core GPA of 3.0 or above OR Transfer GPA of 3.0 or above
    • Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry and Law students are not eligible.
    • Roo Nation Scholarships are limited depending on available funds. 

Competitive Scholarships At a Glance

Competitive scholarships are awarded based on criteria of each scholarship. Funding may be limited for certain competitive scholarships, and some awards require additional application materials. Deadlines may vary. Students may apply by contacting their academic department for approval.
