Construction Update

The front entrance with parking at the UMKC Administrative Center is closed for construction. Please use the entrances on the east, south and north ends of building. The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships will remain open for calls and email. UMKC Central will be relocating to its new office in Atterbury Student Success Center from July 27 to August 14. Walk-in services may be limited or not available during that time.

Award Overview (New Fall 2026)

  • Academic year amount
    • Nonresident tuition differential
  • Eligibility
    • Newly enrolled nonresident graduate students
    • Bachelor's GPA of 3.0 or above
    • Doctoral programs, certificate programs, and graduate programs in the Conservatory and the professional schools of Pharmacy, Dentistry, Law, and Medicine (excepting the MS in Bioinformatics) are not eligible.
  • Requirements
    • Full-time enrollment (9+ UMKC credits per semester)
    • Complete and earn 18 UMKC credits per year.
    • Must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident
    • All newly entering graduate students are considered for these awards with the exception of Doctoral Students, Certificate Programs, Conservatory Programs and Professional Programs, including Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry and Law.
    • Automatic scholarships cannot be combined with other automatic scholarships. You receive only the highest automatic award for which you qualify. 
  • Graduate renewal requirements
    • 3.0 cumulative UMKC GPA
    • Complete and earn 18 UMKC credit hours each year.
