Construction Update

The front entrance with parking at the UMKC Administrative Center is closed for construction. Please use the entrances on the east, south and north ends of building. The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships will remain open for calls and email. UMKC Central will be relocating to its new office in Atterbury Student Success Center from July 27 to August 14. Walk-in services may be limited or not available during that time.

Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grant

Award Overview

The Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grant provides educational funding to students whose parent or guardian died as a result of U.S. military service after September 11, 2001. This federal grant helps eligible students cover college expenses and recognizes the sacrifices made by military families while supporting their pursuit of higher education.

  • Eligibility
    • Students with a parent or guardian who was a member of the U.S. armed forces and died as a result of military service performed in Iraq or Afghanistan after the events of 9/11.
    • Recipients must have been younger than 24 years old or enrolled in college at least part-time at the time of their parent or guardian’s death.
    • Students who are not already eligible for a Pell Grant based on expected family contribution but meet the remaining Pell Grant eligibility requirements may be eligible to receive this award.
