Construction Update
The front entrance with parking at the UMKC Administrative Center is closed for construction. Please use the entrances on the east, south and north ends of building. The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships will remain open for calls and email. UMKC Central will be relocating to its new office in Atterbury Student Success Center from July 27 to August 14. Walk-in services may be limited or not available during that time.
Professional Career Escalators Scholarship
Program Overview
The Professional Career Escalators Program (PCE) helps student make valuable connections allowing them to explore careers that combine their area of study with their professional and academic goals. It offers career preparation and leadership development designed to help students land good-paying jobs after college. Participants in the program are eligible for one of these scholarship options.
Scholarship Eligibility
- Be an incoming student for the upcoming Fall Semester
- Be selected to participate in the PCE program
How Much is the Award?
- $1,500 per year toward tuition
- OR
- $2,500 per year toward on-campus housing
Students may choose to receive either the tuition award or if they are staying in residence hall they can choose to receive the housing award. Students may only receive one of the two options listed above.
What Are the Requirements?
- Complete the UMKC application for admission
- Meet eligibility requirements
- Create and submit a five-minute or less video describing your history and experiences and how this program will help you.
- Submit a letter of recommendation
- Renew each year by maintaining a 2.5 or above overall GPA and completing each of the core Professional Career Escalators experiences.
- The award is renewable up to four years for first-time college students and two years for transfer students.
Application Deadlines
Apply by March 1 for the upcoming Fall Semester.
