Create an Organization

Want to start a new student organization at UMKC? Follow these steps to register your group.

Start a New Student Organization

New student organization registration - August 1 to March 15

Register your new organization on RooGroups

  1. Check for any student organizations that may already serve your desired mission
  2. Go to "Groups"
  3. In the Upper Section, select “Register a New Organization”
  4. Upload a PDF of your constitution and bylaws, including mandatory statements, outlined in the UMKC Constitution Checklist for All New and Existing Student Organizations (PDF)
  5. Add the name and contact information for each member of your executive board (i.e. president, vice president, treasurer)
  6. List at least 10 current members in the "Roster" section of your RooGroups account. This may include members of your executive board.
  7. List the name and contact information for your UMKC faculty or staff advisor
  8. Members of your executive board must complete Student Organization Officer Training
