The program is open to full or part-time UMKC faculty and begins fall 2021. Eligible participants are required to attend three institute workshops in the fall 2021 semester, implement the infused curriculum in the spring of 2022 and attend a final workshop at the end of the 2022 spring semester. Faculty who complete all requirements receive a $500 stipend.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Full orpPart-time faculty member at UMKC
  • Attend all four workshops
  • Must submit syllabus of course to be revised in application
  • Must teach revised course spring semester 2022

Required workshops:

Wednesday, August 18, 2021: Self-Assessment; Bias Impact on Curriculum; and Orientation, Process and Strategies, 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Wednesday, September 15, 2021: Book Discussion and Activities, 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Wednesday, October 13, 2021: Presentation of Initial Draft of Curriculum Revision and Feedback, 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Classroom Implementation of Infused Curriculum, Spring Semester 2022

Thursday, May 19, 2022: Final Presentation – Revised Syllabus, Classroom Implementation Experience/Outcomes, and Personal Reflection, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Applications are due May 21 and awardees will be notified by June 11.

FITIC Application Process:

All applicants must be available to attend ALL workshops in order to receive the $500 stipend.
