UMKC School of Dentistry students and faculty recently had an extraordinary opportunity to learn from one of the most respected voices in dentistry.
Dr. Gordon Christensen—Founder of the CR Foundation and Practical Clinical Courses—visited campus for an open, extemporaneous session that encouraged candid dialogue, curiosity, and forward-thinking discussion. The format allowed attendees to ask questions freely and gain insight into the topics shaping dentistry today and in the years ahead.

Introduced by UMKC School of Dentistry Dean Paul Lupke and UMKC alumnus Dr. John Fluke, Dr. Christensen shared compelling predictions about the future of the profession. His perspectives were grounded in current clinical trends, emerging concepts, and the evolving needs and expectations of patients—offering both inspiration and practical relevance for students and seasoned professionals alike.

Following the session, Dr. Christensen expressed to Dr. John Ball, Clinical Professor, Department of Restorative Clinical Sciences and event coordinator, how impressed he was by the warm welcome and the highly engaged audience. His appreciation underscored the strong culture of learning and collaboration within the UMKC School of Dentistry community.

We are honored to have hosted Dr. Christensen for many presentations over the years and deeply grateful for the knowledge, insight, and inspiration he continues to share with our students and faculty.
