The UMKC School of Dentistry came together in the spirit of service to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. during its annual MLK Day of Service on Monday, January 20, 2015. Students, staff, faculty, and friends from GEHA Solutions joined forces to assemble 2,000 dental hygiene kits for community members in need.

The kits are being distributed to Ronald McDonald House, Children’s Mercy Hospital, Welcome House, Amethyst Place, and City Union Mission—extending care and compassion well beyond campus.

Supplies for the project were generously provided by the School of Dentistry’s Departments of Dental Public Health and Business Affairs.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped carry forward Dr. King’s legacy of service, community, and compassion.
