The School of Dentistry welcomed some 30 prospective students for the 2026 Summer Dental Discovery Program. Held on Monday, June 22 and Tuesday, June 23, the program brought together high school juniors and seniors, as well as college freshmen and sophomores, for two full days of programming.

To be considered for the program, each student had to demonstrate they maintained a GPA of 3.0 at their institution and submit an application expressing interest in pursuing dental hygiene and/or dentistry.

Over the two days, students learned about our admissions process, explored digital dentistry and operative dentistry, heard firsthand from dental students at a panel, took part in hands-on activities, and shadowed D3 and D4 students in the clinic.

The program provided students with an immersive introduction to the dental profession and the School of Dentistry. Through connecting with peers who share their goals, setting foot in our facilities, and learning directly from professionals, we hope that the students’ passion for dental hygiene and dentistry has been ignited!
