Getting Started - Students - Campus Connectivity

Campus Connectivity

Campus ConnectivityResidence Halls
UMKC provides students with wired (Ethernet) network access in the residence halls. Students will need to bring their own Ethernet cable. Students in the residence halls will use the SafeConnect system to ensure computers are protected and up-to-date. Wireless access is also available in the public areas in the residence halls.

Students can enjoy the convenient benefits of wireless internet access in almost every building and most community spaces on campus. Wi-Fi allows students the freedom to study and learn without restricting them to physical locations.

Mobile Device Setup
For students who bring their mobile devices to campus, set up instructions are provided to connect to the internet. We understand the importance of mobile devices to access email, websites, and other online applications.

Students can access UMKC's network resources from off-campus through a Virtual Private Network (VPN). A VPN is a method used to add security and privacy to protect sensitive data.
