Long Distance Authorization Codes

Long distance authorization codes are used when a phone is restricted from long distance dialing. An authorization code will allow the user to bypass long distance restriction on a call by call basis.

Long distance authorization codes can be used anywhere on campus, but will always bill back to a specific number, so they need to be kept very confidential. The department is responsible for any long distance charges associated with any unauthorized use of the code.

There is a one time $50 software charge to assign an authorization code. Fill out the Change/ Equipment section on the Networking and Telecommunications Service Order. There is no charge to change a code.

Call Networking/Telecommunications at 235-1595 for authorization code dialing instructions.
