Active Directory Consolidation → User Migration FAQ
System-wide IT is currently engaged in a project to consolidate each of the University campuses user accounts into a single, shared domain. This is an effort that will reduce costs, strengthen support infrastructure, increase security, and result in a more efficient IT environment. This consolidation will ease the adoption of cloud services, off-the-shelf software, and promote the sharing of common resources system-wide.
The bulk of the account migrations will take place this summer, but UMKC will have an early adopter option for those who want to migrate their account early.
Your account migration will be processed through each UMKC resource, requiring you to sign back in. This process may take several hours for some resources. If you have difficulty logging into a resource, please be patient as these resources become available, and try again later.
Your username, password, and email address, USERNAME@umkc.edu (Faculty/Staff) or USERNAME@mail.umkc.edu (Students), will not be changed by this migration; however, how you log into some UMKC resources will change, as indicated below.
