Macintosh Support

Service and support for university-owned Mac equipment is available on campus. Please contact the Technology Support Center or your  IT Liaison as appropriate. Below are common support topics related to using Mac (Apple) computers on the UMKC network.

Getting Connected

  • At Home - You can check your email and access other UMKC network resources from off campus locations. From home, you must connect to the Internet through a local service provider. A VPN connection is also required for access to some campus computing resources.

  • In the Residence Halls - Internet access is available in residence hall rooms. Please check with your RA for more information.

  • In Your Office - Faculty and staff should check with their IT Liaison before attempting to connect computer equipment to the wired network on campus.

  • In ILE Classrooms - Faculty can bring their Mac laptops into ILE Classrooms at UMKC to use the multimedia display options of those facilities. Training for connecting a Mac to an ILE projection system is available from Classroom Technology Services.

  • Wireless on Campus - Instructions are available for wireless networking on campus.
