Official Documents

Do I Need to Submit Official Documents?

  • You might be required to show your official transcripts, mark sheets, diplomas, and degree certificates after you are admitted. If any documents are required, they will be listed on your admission letter. Read your admission letter carefully to determine which documents we have requested from you.
  • Documents that you upload to your online application portal or send by email are not considered official. Please do not upload academic records again after you have been admitted.
  • If we have requested documents in your admission letter, you will receive a hold on your student account. This hold will prevent you from enrolling.
    • You will be allowed to enroll for your first semester using unofficial documents.
    • You will not be able to enroll in any future semester until we receive all the official, final documents we request on your admission letter.
  • If fraud is discovered in any documents submitted at any time to UMKC, the university will take appropriate action, up to and including denying or revoking admission at any time, even after UMKC studies have begun.

How Do I Submit Official Documents?

If you have been given specific instructions from your admissions advisor or the coordinator of international admissions, please follow those instructions and work with that staff member to clarify questions and meet our requirements.

For academic records from most countries, use one of the following methods to submit documents:

  • Request them to be sent by email directly from that school to UMKC at umkcisaoproc@umkc.edu. (Academic records sent from the student by email are not considered official.)
  • Request them to be sent from the school by courier to this address:
International Student Affairs Office
University of Missouri-Kansas City
5000 Holmes St., G04
Kansas City, MO 64110
If you have questions, email umkcisaoproc@umkc.edu for assistance.

If you attended high school or university in the People's Republic of China, please send an English

  • If you have not graduated yet, we will review your application with the documents you uploaded, but you must submit a CHESICC report after you graduate. You will not be able to continue enrolling after your first semester until we receive your CHESICC report.

If you studied at a US institution, you can request transcripts to be sent to UMKC electronically. Ask the registrar’s office or your academic advisor at that school if you need help with this.

If you studied at a language program only, it might be necessary to request your records from the language program instead of the registrar's office. These records can be sent by email to umkcisaoproc@umkc.edu
