The KC Streetcar is the key to Kansas City and UMKC. Enjoy a free ride to any of the stops along the KC Streetcar route, now extending from UMKC at 51st and Brookside to the River Market. Use the Transit app to check hours of operation and arrival and departure times.

The UMKC streetcar stop is just steps away from UMKC's Volker Campus. Hop on board and visit us, or park and ride to any of the stops along the streetcar route. You can also rent classic pedal and electric-assist bicycles from a nearby RideKC Bike rack.

The KC Streetcar Is Our Classroom
With the new line extending to UMKC, and with strong faculty connections to the KC Streetcar and Kansas City Area Transportation Authority, UMKC students had the opportunity to work with industry professionals on design and research opportunities connected to the streetcar.
Getting an MPA from the Bloch School of Management was the right choice at the right time. I developed key relationships and learned so many valuable things about how local governments and agencies, the private business community and nonprofit/community organizations can work together collaboratively to better our community.
