Our professional photo and video services team can help you build your brand and tell your best stories with high-quality photography and compelling videos, offered at below-market rates for members of the University of Missouri System.
General Photography
Event Photography
Candid, documentary-style photographs capture images of an event as it was. Posed individual or group photos are available at the client's request. We'll work with you to determine the best way to capture the essence of your event.
Staged Shoots
Shoots with a predetermined concept best used for marketing materials, general campus photography and editorial pieces. These shoots can focus on individuals or groups, either posed or candidly shot in a controlled setting, while other shoots contain no subjects at all. Many times, staged shoots also incorporate sets, props or lighting. We will work with you to determine the best solution to meet your goals.
Non-studio Portraits
Individual or group portraits, not bulk individual portraits, taken outside of the Volker Campus Portrait Studio in room 307 in the Fine Arts Building. Portraits can be taken with standard plain backgrounds, in labs or classrooms, outdoors or in many different settings. We specialize in unique concepts that go beyond what you'll see in a standard individual or group photo.
General Photography Rates
- Standard - $125/hr
- Off-peak - $150/hr (weekdays after 5:00 p.m. and weekends)
Studio Portraits
Studio Portrait Days are a free service to UMKC faculty, staff, students and affiliates and are held the third Tuesday of every month in 307 Fine Arts Building, Volker Campus. The Health Sciences Campus Portrait Studio is closed until further notice due to construction.
Rates
- Studio Portrait Days - Free
- Studio Portraits (Outside Studio Portrait Days)
- Individual - $50 flat rate
- Bulk - $150/hr
- Bulk Portraits (Non-studio location) - $225 for the first hour, $150 each additional hour
Getting Ready
- For clothing, solid colors and simple patterns work best
- Plan for the session to take 10–15 minutes
- Relax! We'll do our best to help you feel comfortable in front of the camera
Video Services
Each video we create is customized to your needs. Contact us today to discuss your video project and what we can do to help capture your vision. Video project quotes are custom-created per job, depending on the scope of the project, and will be provided at the time of request.
Additional Services
Some projects require extra attention, and we're happy to help. The following services are available for an additional fee: location scouting/testing, script writing, photo archive retrieval, photo retouching, photo/video shoot coordination.
- Additional Services — $50/hour
- Location scouting/testing, photo archive retrieval, photo retouching and photo shoot coordination.
- Travel Fee — $50/hour (Roundtrip)
- Applied to all shoots not held on UMKC Volker or Health Sciences campuses. The total roundtrip travel time will be estimated from the shoot’s location to the nearest UMKC campus location.
- Rush Request Fee — 20%*
- Photo requests made within 2 business days of an event or photoshoot, or images requested before the standard 8-business day turnaround will be charged a 20% rush fee. *Free portrait rush images will be charged a $25 flat fee.
- Processing Fee — 20%
- Projects not charged to a MoCode will require an email or mailing address to send the invoice and will incur an additional 20% processing fee.
