Welcome to the University of Missouri – Kansas City (UMKC), Missouri Institute for Defense & Energy (MIDE), Design and Fabrication Services. Our goal is to provide services and solutions to researchers and students that need custom machining or manufacturing. Staffed by Allen Dale, Jeff Newhook, and James Verzella, the machine shop offers a diverse array of fabrication, repair, and prototyping capabilities. Their combined experience covers everything from standard machining of metals to ceramics and plastics.
