Pay a Ticket
You have two weeks from the issue date to pay or appeal your ticket. If you do not pay your ticket or submit an appeal in 13 days, you will receive an additional penalty fee of $5 and appeal will no longer be available.

UMKC visitor
If you received a parking ticket while visiting campus, you can look up your ticket with your license plate number to settle your fee.

Appeal a Ticket
Appeals must be submitted within two weeks of the issue date. Appeals received after two weeks will not be considered.
Tickets may not be available to appeal online until the day after issue.
How to submit an appeal
- Fill in all requested information
- Upload supporting documentation if needed (photos, repair bills, etc.)
- Submit one appeal per violation
What happens next
- You will receive an email with your hearing date and time
- The UMKC Parking and Traffic Committee will review your appeal
- You will receive the decision via email within five days of the hearing
Your attendance at the hearing is optional. Committee decisions are final.
No response within five days?
We did not receive your appeal.
Reasons that will not result in a successful appeal
- Being new to campus or not knowing the regulations
- Other vehicles were also parked improperly
- Late to class or appointment
- Cannot afford the fine
- Lack of parking spaces
- Did not see or misunderstood signs
- Parked for only a short time
- Parked in a handicap area without a valid placard or plate
- Parked at an expired meter
