Grade Appeal

The establishment of the criteria for grades and the evaluation of student academic performance are the responsibilities of the instructor. Students are responsible for meeting these requirements. Grade appeal is available only for the review of allegedly capricious grading. A formal appeal procedure will determine the validity of the claim.

Talk to your academic advisor about the process and the best way to handle it.

In the Policy Library, there is a specific policy about grade appeal. It is a good idea to read it.

Students must appeal the final grade to the instructor, department, and academic dean. If those efforts to resolve are unsatisfactory, the last resort is an appeal to the Provost.
