Don Stansberry

Biography

Dr. Don Stansberry serves as Vice Provost for Student Affairs at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, bringing more than 30 years of experience in higher education and a career-long commitment to creating student-centered campus environments. A first-generation college graduate, Don’s professional and research interests include first-generation student success, student engagement and belonging, leadership development, student organization advising, supervision, and the role of Student Affairs in supporting persistence and student success. He is particularly interested in how institutions can use assessment and data to reimagine the student experience and create environments where every student can thrive.

Don was drawn to UMKC by the opportunity to lead Student Affairs at an urban research university and to help reimagine the student experience through innovation, collaboration, belonging, care, engagement, and holistic well-being.
