Course Description: Software methods and tools are widely used in practice to support software production. They exist throughout the software project lifecycle, ranging from early stage of planning to software maintenance. In this course, we will cover a number of such methods and tools. These methods include UML, structured design, design patterns, code generation, testing, and version control. Course Description: Fundamentals of Solar Cell (Photovoltaic) Science This course highlights the fundamental science and engineering of solar PV devices, solar energy conversion as well as solar cell manufacturing issues. It covers from basic to modern solar PV devices, including typical solar cell materials, basic device physics, ideal and non-ideal models, device parameters and design, and device fabrication. Students will be introduced with the basic semiconductor processes employed in first, second and third generation solar cell manufacturing. Si based technologies covering crystalline, multi-crystalline, amorphous thin films solar cells and their manufacturing will be discussed.
