It asks: how do the dead come to animate the lives of the living in different social contexts? What role have new technologies played in reconfiguring the boundaries between life and death? Why have anthropologists been so interested in studying relationships between the living and the dead and how are their approaches reflective of different theoretical perspectives and concerns within the discipline of cultural anthropology?
