Housing Contracts
Contracting for UMKC Residential Life begins in December and is open until spaces are filled. We encourage you to fill out your contract early to have the best chance at getting your preferences (preferences are not guaranteed and do not relieve the student from the contract if alternate accommodations are assigned). Please note that to submit a contract, official admission to the university is required.
Contracts are for the entire academic year, or for the part of the academic year remaining after the effective start date of the contract. There are contracts available for the Spring Semester only and for the summer. Contracts for apartment spaces include the Fall, Winter and Spring Break periods. The residence halls are closed during these times, and other accommodations must be found during break periods.
Submit Your Contract
- Carefully review contract terms and conditions
- Visit the RooRez Student Web Portal
- Log in with your UMKC SSO
- Select "Submit a Contract" (may need to click on three lines on upper left to get this option)
- Fill out the contract that applies to the term you'd like housing
- Once you reach the Contract Summary landing page, you’ve successfully completed your housing contract
Check Your Housing Assignment
Visit RooRez to find your current housing assignment along with roommate information (if an assignment has been made) on the Home page.
Returner Room Selection
Residents returning for the 2026-2027 Academic Year who complete their contract by February 2 will have the opportunity to select their own roommates or apartment mates and rooms or apartments.
