How to Get Your Roo Card
Log In
Go to UMKC's WebCard Center and sign in with your UMKC SSO and network password. Your SSO is the first part of your UMKC email (before the @ sign).
Upload a Photo ID
Select "Submit Photo" from the menu and upload a government-issued photo ID. The name on your ID must match your name in university records.
Accepted IDs
- Driver's license (or watermarked temporary copy)
- State ID
- Military ID
- Passport
- Immigration card
Add Your Profile Photo
Upload a photo from your computer, take one with your webcam, or use your mobile device. File must be JPG, JPEG, or PNG (between 1KB and 1MB).
Photo requirements
- Face forward directly into the camera
- Use a solid white, beige, or light-colored background
- No head tilts or odd angles
- No hats, sunglasses, or accessories (religious head coverings are permitted)
- No filters or photo editing
- No copyrighted photos (such as senior portraits)
- Only include yourself
- Photo must be in color, well-lit, and in focus
Photos that include avatars, nudity, or otherwise violate the Student Code of Conduct will be denied and may be referred to the Office of Student Conduct and Civility.
Wait for Approval
The Roo Card Office will review your photo and email you at your UMKC address. If approved, pick up your card at the Roo Card Office. If rejected, you will need to resubmit starting at Step one.
Card Care
Carry your Roo Card at all times. You are responsible for keeping it in good condition. If the magnetic stripe becomes unreadable, you will need to pay for a replacement card. Card privileges are deactivated if you are no longer enrolled or employed by the university.
Card Features
Your Roo Card is more than an ID. Use it to get around campus, access buildings, pay for meals and more.
Printing
Print in IS computer labs and University Libraries using your Roo Card.
Building Access
Enter secure campus buildings with your Roo Card if you have been granted access.
Libraries
Charge items to your student account at the University Bookstore and check out materials at University Libraries.
Recreation and Events
Enter Swinney Recreation Center and attend UMKC events with student pricing.
