The LGBTQIA Scholarship

To recognize and promote the tremendous impact that the dedication and service of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex and ally (LGBTQIA) students have on our communities, we are proud to present UMKC’s LGBTQIA Scholarship. The purpose of the Fund shall be to provide scholarships to LGBTQIA students who are full-time students and currently enrolled in any degree undergraduate program at UMKC, who maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA, and who demonstrate support of the LGBTQI community, either on-campus or off-campus, through significant support, engagement, and/or volunteering. Recipients of this scholarship are eligible to reapply for consideration for this scholarship from year to year.

Established with the support of UMKC alumnus Paolo Andino, star of Logo network’s Big Gay Sketch Show, this scholarship will recognize UMKC students whose efforts have helped advance LGBTQIA equality and respect in their schools and communities. Your gift to the scholarship fund makes a powerful statement about the solidarity of the LGBTQIA community at UMKC and in Kansas City - it’s a statement that our LGBTQIA students need to hear.
