As the student government of UMKC, SGA represents all students on campus and acts as the student advocate with the administration and faculty. The executive branch has four elected officers: president, executive vice president, administrative vice president and comptroller. Elections are held every April. The legislative branch, known as the student senate, comprises elected representatives from the academic units that make up UMKC. The judicial branch is vested in UMKC’s Superior Court. Each school and college is governed by a school council that reports to the SGA.
