Portraits of Possibilities

Ida Ayalew
Philosophy, Black Studies Minor '16

As a first generation born Ethiopian–American, I am very grateful and honored for the continuous financial support I have received from UMKC and our alumni. My academic year spent in Morocco would not have been possible without the help of the College of Arts and Sciences scholarship. Experiencing life in North Africa has impacted me in more ways than I would have imagined. Without your support, I could not and would not be the person I am today. My environment at UMKC has encouraged me to understand that my horizons are limitless; I can and will accomplish my dreams. I hope one day to financially contribute to aspiring future leaders at UMKC because I know every dollar counts.
