UMKC Dining Services: Union Cafeteria Guidelines

Welcome to the Union Cafeteria!

You are about to experience outstanding service, food and value. Enjoy our salad bar, soups, deli bar, classic entrees, grill, brick-oven pizza, exhibition cooking features, desserts, beverages & more.

Here are some of the guidelines for enjoying YOUR Cafeteria:

Everyone who enters the all-you-care-to-eat area must pay the buffet price. During service hours, no one may enter without paying for the meal.
You must have your ID card in order to use your meal plan or declining balance.
If you are paying with your 19, 15 or 12-meal plan, only you may use meals from your plan. If you wish to bring a guest, that guest's meal must be paid for with declining balance, cash, check or credit card in order for your guest to enter.
If you are paying with a 180, 75 or staff meal plan, you may bring guests and pay for their meals with additional meals from your meal plan. However, ID cards may never be lent to other individuals; the card's owner must be present for the card to be used.

NEW THIS YEAR: A "TO GO" OPTION AT THE CAFETERIA!

Here are some guidelines:

Food and beverage may ONLY be removed from the Cafeteria as a "to go" meal (described here).
If you would like to take your meal "to go", please advise the cashier when you enter, and you will be given one, large food container, one, large drink container and appropriate utensils. You can only take food out in these containers.
You may fill the food container with any food items of your choice and the beverage container with any beverage, but the lids to both containers must be able to remain closed unaided.
If you choose to take your meal "to go", you may not eat in the Cafeteria. If you eat inside the Cafeteria, you may not take your meal "to go". You cannot do both.
Only one, "to go" meal is allowed per person per meal period.

Most importantly, I want you do know that our team is committed to providing world-class food, service and facilities. Please ask one of our staff members if there is anything that we can do for you.
