My advising philosophy with students is to make sure that my appointments are always transformational rather than transactional. Transactional advising doesn’t feel special! Transformational advising is an opportunity to actually help the student grow. Transactional advising means helping the student in the now, while transformational advising means helping the students with decisions for the future!
