Participant pages on Canvas will include the project abstract, presentation and an interactive discussion board on which members of the UMKC community can post questions or feedback. Presentation formats may include posters, narrated PowerPoint slides, videos or Zoom presentations.

Mentored undergraduate research has been described as a “high-impact student experience” that provides an opportunity for students to enhance their intellectual development and confidence, explore potential careers or graduate-level opportunities and polish their communication skills.

“Challenges presented during this ‘year of COVID’ have taxed students and their faculty mentors,” said Jane Greer, Ph.D., who directs the program. “We will celebrate the achievements of these students who have persevered in a year unlike any other.”
