Our Services

The primary focus of the UMKC Strategic Marketing and Communications (MCOM) photo services team is to provide professional images to help promote the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Photography assignments are prioritized by the overall impact and intended usage of the final images. For example, candid photographs from Roo Welcome Week can be used in many different capacities for marketing the university as opposed to group photos at an awards reception for an individual unit, department or organization. Photographing an event to specifically create content for marketing has a greater impact and intended use than photographing an event just to document the occasion.

Event Coverage

Select images from events covered by PR/Stratcom will be available to download at the discretion of the MCOM team. Complete coverage of the event cannot be guaranteed. For more comprehensive coverage, or to include specific requests, please complete a photography services request form to hire a photographer.

Timelines

Photo requests should be submitted at least 10 business days in advance. Requests made within 2 business days of an event or photoshoot will be charged a 20% rush fee. Photography assignments are prioritized by the overall impact and intended usage for the university. A request does not guarantee the availability of a photographer.

Within 8 business days after your event or photoshoot, you will receive an email with a link to a digital gallery of select high-resolution images suitable for print or web use. Rush images can be obtained for a $25 rush fee on free studio portraits or a 20% fee on all other projects.
