Ensuring competency in leadership, social and cultural development.

The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs works closely with multicultural students to ensure competency in leadership, social and cultural development. Our office provides direct and indirect advising to assess the effectiveness of each organization and leadership skills of individual leaders.

Multicultural Student Organization Council (MSOC)

Multicultural Student Organization Council (MSOC) is the umbrella council for multicultural student organizations advised by Multicultural Student Affairs. The purpose is to provide a platform for multicultural student organizations to work collaboratively to meet each organization’s objectives and foster a sense of community among students of color at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC).

Men of Color Academy (MoCA)

MoCA is designed to foster and promote an inclusive comradeship for male-identifying students while focusing on educational advancement and establishing a sense of belonging.

National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC)

National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) strives to promote an atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation between Black fraternities and sororities at UMKC, to disseminate a better understanding of Black Greek functions and purposes, to support and encourage high academic standards, to maintain smooth and cooperative relationships with other organizations, and to support and encourage viable civic projects in Kansas City.
