We are #RooReady for fall semester classes. Learn more about the UMKC response to the global COVID-19 pandemic and get the latest updates and safety information from the CDC.

Campus Rec equips students to pursue better lives using physical activity as our platform. For just 30 minutes a day, or 150 minutes a week, exercise helps you better deal with stress and anxiety, improves mood, focus and motivation and primes the brain to learn faster. What can Campus Rec do for you?

Effective March 16, 2020:

Campus Recreation and the Swinney Center will be temporarily closed until further notice. Along with the rest of the UMKC, Campus Recreation and Swinney Center are #RooReady. We anticipate re-opening for the fall semester but are also preparing for multiple scenarios and will be prepared to continue to provide virtual programing for our students and members if needed. Once a reopening date is determined, we will alert all members via email, post on our website, and to our social media pages. Please see the Member Letter below for information about your membership.

Student Employment

“I learned many values that I would like to develop in my next job and in life. I made friendships that completely changed my life at Campus Rec. It’s more than just a work team, but it is a job where managers and coworkers care for each other. “

Cyrielle Kern

UMKC Alumna, '19

"Exercise renews the body, supports the spirit and keeps the mind in vigor. Run hard, leap high, throw strongly and endure.” – E.F. Swinney
