Administrative Center Construction Update

The front entrance with parking at the UMKC Administrative Center is closed for construction. Please use the entrances on the east, south and north ends of building for in-person visits to UMKC Central (not available from September 14-17). The Registrar’s Office is open for calls and emails as usual.

Course Equivalency

UMKC Course Transfer Policy

A transfer course evaluated as a direct equivalent to a UMKC course will be equated to that course number and may be applied to any program in which the UMKC course is accepted, subject to the same grade requirements.

Courses assigned a departmental abbreviation and level but not equated to a specific course (HIST 2AB, for example) are accepted as coursework in that department but do not have an exact equivalent at UMKC. An advisor will determine how these courses will apply to requirements for a degree program.

Courses evaluated as non-equivalent (subject of GEN-ENRL) are considered college-level work for purposes of determining level (freshman, sophomore, etc), and will not be applicable to any degree program at UMKC, other than electives. Courses evaluated as "not acceptable" for transfer will appear in the list with no equivalency (NO CRE 1000). These courses will not be counted as hours of college credit, nor applied to any degree program.

  1. Log in to Pathway
  2. Select "Records and Enrollment"
  3. Select "Transfer Credit Evaluation"
  4. Select "Evaluate Transfer Credit"

Courses equivalencies are constantly being reviewed and updated. All transfer courses are subject to the approval of an academic advisor.
