Roo Advising provides students with a proactive, personalized and comprehensive academic advising experience. We help undergraduate students clarify degree requirements, develop academic plans, connect to campus resources, and persist toward timely graduation.

Students admitted to start in Spring 2026

All new first time college freshmen and transfer students: After you have confirmed your admission please schedule a 1-hour new student academic advising appointment through your UMKC Connect account, by calling our front desk (816) 235-1148, or emailing us rooadvising@umkc.edu. To make the most of your appointment, please have any official transcripts sent to UMKC in advance-this helps us build a schedule that fully recognizes the work you’ve already accomplished and keeps you moving toward your goals.
