How can I check out a laptop through this program?

Schedule a Laptop Loaner Check-out appointment via Handshake to check out a laptop. Please bring your student ID to the Career Services office in the Atterbury Student Success Center on your approved appointment date. Laptops are available on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability. If you need assistance in creating an appointment, contact us at careerservices@umkc.edu

What are my responsibilities upon checking out a laptop?

You agree to perform regular Windows updates by checking out a laptop and following UMKC's computer usage policy. You are also responsible for adequately caring for the device and using a protective case or sleeve.

What is UMKC's computer usage policy?

UMKC's computer usage policy can be found at UMKC Computer Usage Policy. Please make sure to follow these guidelines while using the loaned laptop.

What if I face technical issues with the laptop?

Contact the UMKC Technology Support Center at UMKC IT Help if you encounter technical issues. They will provide free technical support for the loaned laptops.

What if I need specific software?
