Exempt Applicants

  • Citizens of a country that has English as an official language (PDF)
  • Students who have completed Composition I and II courses with a grade of C or better at a U.S.-accredited university or college
  • Students who have earned a degree or at least 24 credit hours of non-ESL coursework at an accredited university or college in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, New Zealand or Australia
  • Students who have successfully completed high school in the United States at an accredited school

Exempt Applicants

Masters and PhD students who earned a bachelor's or master's degree from an institution in Bangladesh, Egypt, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Turkey are not required to submit proof of English proficiency to be considered for admission to computer science, data science, physics, chemistry, or an engineering major.
