UMKC Campus Recreation Memberships include access to the updated fitness center with cardio and weight equipment, five multipurpose studios, indoor track, outdoor track, racquetball courts, 25-yard swimming pool, sauna and steam rooms, recreational field and locker rooms. The Swinney Center provides all members with daily lock and towel service. Sports equipment is available for check out at no additional cost from our Service Center.

Parking passes for Community Members
Parking passes are available separately for community members and recent UMKC graduate members. Passes can be purchased in monthly increments from 1 month up to 12 months but cannot exceed the length of a current membership or membership agreement. All passes must be purchased in the Campus Recreation Membership Office.

1 Day Guest Passes are $11/day.
Purchase your day pass the same day you plan to utilize the pass in our Membership Office. Day Passes must be purchased in-person in the Membership Office.
A current member must be present with you in the Membership Office to be a sponsor when purchasing a Day Pass.
When you visit the facility, you are REQUIRED to have a government issued ID that includes your date of birth to show to the Welcome Desk attendant. All guest must be over the age of 18.
Guest Passes are good for 1 calendar day. Guests may come and go during facility hours.

- Faculty/Staff Member is responsible for canceling their payroll deduct and membership. The membership will be ongoing until the faculty/staff member cancels the membership.
- To cancel your payroll deduction membership, you must complete the payroll cancellation form by the deadlines listed below.
- Employees paid bi-weekly must complete the form by the last day in the pay period.
- Employees paid monthly must complete the form 72 hours prior to the payroll change forms deadline.

Please consult your physician regarding your ability and preparedness to participate in the various activities offered. The University assumes that users of the center have verified their health/fitness with their personal physicians and that they assume their own risk in participating.
There is no free parking at UMKC, day or night. Please visit Parking and Transportation to learn more about parking on campus and download the campus map to view spaces. Community Members may purchase a parking pass with their membership if desired. The Campus Recreation Permit is valid in all of the Cherry Street Parking Structure. It is also valid in metered Area 43 and metered Area 40. After 4:15pm it is also valid in Area 4.
Cancellation of an individual membership will be allowed only under special circumstances. There will be no cancellation privileges with student memberships. Refunds for memberships will only be granted for one of the following reasons:
- Employment from UMKC is terminated. Verification will be made with Human Resources.
- Medical emergencies that inhibit members from utilizing Swinney Center. Written documentation is required from a physician.
All members will be required to use a Campus Rec/UMKC ID for entrance to the facility.
If you forget your I.D. Card, we can look you up by your phone number. You can forget your card 3 times a semester. After the 3rd time, you won’t be able to access the facility without your I.D. Card.
