FLAG-Instructor Feedback (Low/Early Concern)

Instructor feedback flags should always be the first step when alerting a student that you are concerned about their academic performance in a class.  The Instructor Feedback flag is meant to be a conversation between the course instructor and the student.  Academic Advisors can view this flag but there is no expectation for their intervention.

Recommended Timing: Week 2-6, 9, 13. Timing should coincide with activities, discussions, assignments, and assessment for each course.

Notification

  • Comments are included in notification
  • Appears in Student Dashboard
  • Student receives email notification

Response Plan

  • Instructor feedback is designed to be a conversation between the course instructor and student
  • No expectation for Academic Advisor intervention
  • Tracking items are reviewed by Academic Advisors and Success Coaches in preparation for student appointments
  • Closed by Course Instructor when issue is resolved or by Connect Administrator at end of term

FLAG-Survey (Low/Early Concern) 

Survey flags are associated with the Semester Start Progress Surveys that are utilized early each term. These flags are used to alert students of early behaviors that may impact their ability to achieve success and are raised based on Course Instructor responses in each survey.

Recommended Timing: Progress Survey Weeks 4-6
