The University of Missouri System uses an automated, rapid notification system to supplement the communication tools currently used to notify students, faculty and staff about campus emergencies and closings, as well as class cancellations due to inclement weather.

General Public

Parents, community members and others who do not have an account with the university can sign up for alerts via text message.

Text "UMKCAlert" (all one word) to 67283. You should receive a message confirming your phone number has been added to the system.

You can stop receiving alerts via text message by texting "LEAVE UMKCAlert" to that same number.
