Student Permits

Students may purchase a student (24-hour) permit, an evening (valid after 4:15 p.m. only) student permit or, if they are a residential student, a Hospital Hill Apartments garage permit. Student permit lots are indicated in blue on the campus map.

Student permits for the Summer 2023 term will be on sale starting on May 8th, 2023.

All permits will be mailed to the student. At the end of the application process, a temporary permit which will be valid for three weeks is available online for you to print. Simply place the temporary permit on your dash. The permit will be mailed to your address within 10 business days. If the permit is not received by the time your temporary permit is about to expire, please contact the Parking Operations office. You can order a permit online anywhere you have access to a printer.

 

Vehicle plate information is required.

There will be a $20 replacement fee for the first lost, stolen or destroyed permit. This fee will increase with subsequent replacement permits.

Valid Parking Areas

The student permit is valid 24 hours a day in the following student permit lots:

  • Area 32S, Rockhill Parking Structure, 52nd and Rockhill Road
  • Area 32N, Cherry Street Parking Structure, 51st and Oak Streets
  • Area 32W, 52nd and Cherry Streets
  • Area 32E, 51st St. and Troost Ave.
  • Area 33, 4825 Troost building
  • Area 35, 53rd and Holmes Streets
  • Area 67, 25th and Campbell Streets
  • Area 68, 25th and Charlotte Streets
  • Area 28, Hospital Hill Parking Structure, levels 4-7, 24th Terr. and Charlotte St.
  • Area 38 Student Success Center/Miller Nichols Library

Restricted Parking Areas

This permit is valid in most permit areas after 4:15 p.m., Monday-Friday. HOWEVER, THIS PERMIT IS NOT VALID AFTER 4:15 p.m. IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

  • Area 14, Law School, lot north of building, row closest to building
  • Area 15, School of Education, lot on south side of building, row closest to building
  • Area 24, Administrative Center, lot on east side of building, row closest to building
This permit is never valid in the following areas:
  • Parking meters or pay-and-display lots
  • Area 5, lot east of Performing Arts Center
  • Berkley Child and Family Development Center
  • Hospital Hill Apartments parking structure
  • Oak Place Apartments parking structure
  • Retail parking spaces south of Oak Place Apartments
  • Any other area so designated by appropriate signs

 

Evening Permit

Evening permits are available for purchase at a reduced cost based on the rate for day permits and can be used in most permit lots after 4:15 p.m.

Notice: All permits will be mailed out. At the end of the application process, a temporary permit is available for you to print out. Simply place the temporary permit on your dash. Contact Parking Operations if the permit does not arrive before the temporary permit is about to expire.

$58 Summer, valid through August 20th, 2023 

Restricted Parking Areas

Evening student permits ARE NOT applicable in the following areas:

  • At parking meters or pay-and-display lots
  • Area 5, lot east side of the Performing Arts Center
  • Area 14, Law School, lot on north side of building, row closest to building
  • Area 15, School of Education, lot on south side of building, row closest to building
  • Area 24, Administrative Center, lot on east side of building, row closest to building
  • Berkley Child and Family Development Center
  • Hospital Hill Apartments parking structure
  • Oak Place Apartments parking structure
  • Retail parking spaces south of the Oak Place apartments
  • Parking lots for the retail shops at 51st and Oak
  • Any other area so designated by appropriate signs

 

Hospital Hill Apartments Permit

Permit sales for the Hospital Hill Apartments parking garage are limited, and one permit will be sold for every space.

Notice: All permits will be mailed out. At the end of the application process, a temporary permit is available for you to print out. Simply place the temporary permit on your dash. Contact Parking Operations if the permit does not arrive before the temporary permit is about to expire.

Access to the Hospital Hill Apartments garage is usually available 1-2 business days after ordering a permit.

Hospital Hill Apartments permit is valid 24 hours per day in the Hospital Hill Apartments Parking Structure and in the student permit areas.

Restricted Parking Areas

The Hospital Hill Apartments garage permit is valid in most permit areas after 4:15 p.m., Monday through Friday. HOWEVER, THIS PERMIT IS NOT VALID AFTER 4:15 p.m. IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

  • Area 14, Law School, lot north of building, row closest to building
  • Area 15, School of Education, lot on south side of building, row closest to building
  • Area 24, Administrative Center, lot on east side of building, row closest to building

THIS PERMIT IS NEVER VALID IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

  • Parking meters or pay-and-display lots
  • Area 5, lot east of Performing Arts Center
  • Berkley Child and Family Development Center
  • Oak Place Apartments parking garage
  • Retail spaces south of the Oak Place apartments
  • Any other area so designated by appropriate signs
