Join the Staff Council Professional Development Committee for the 2024 Professional Development Conference on Wednesday, May 15. You may attend In-person or virtually.
The Professional Development Conference and staff appreciation lunch are scheduled for the same day this year. You may register for both events or just one. Priority registration ends May 9.

- 8 a.m.: Conference welcome and raffle
- 8:30 a.m.: Keynote by 2019 Super Bowl Champion Emmanuel Smith
- 9:40 a.m.: First breakout
- 10:40 a.m.: Second breakout
- 11:30 a.m.: Staff appreciation lunch
- 1:40 p.m.: Third breakout
- 2:40 p.m.: Wrap-up and raffle
- 3:00 p.m.: Optional networking and round-robin sessions
- 4:00 p.m.: End of conference

Service opportunity
First Gen Roo and Academic Support and Mentoring, the Dr. Raj Bala Agrawal Care Center and the Professional Wardrobe Studio will be collecting donations.You may drop off your donations at conference registration.
Requested items:
- First Gen Roo/Academic Support and Mentoring: School supplies, including notebooks, note cards, pens and pencils, Post-It notes and highlighters
- Care Center: Canned fruit and meat, dry pasta, ramen noodles, breakfast items, canned soup, peanut butter and jelly, granola bars and boxed meals.
- Professional Wardrobe Studio: Women's blazers, men's dress shoes, travel-size deodorant and laundry pods.

The Staff Council Professional Development Conference began as an idea to provide a day of professional development, networking and resource sharing to support staff. Since 2014 the conference has grown to become the premier professional development opportunity for all UMKC staff, featuring breakout sessions, a keynote speaker and the opportunity to network with colleagues.
