Who Can Attend Orientation?
Incoming undergraduate students
- Attendance is required for incoming first-time college students and transfer students with 24 or fewer credit hours entering in the Fall Semester, and strongly recommended for those entering in Spring or Summer.
- We encourage transfer students with more than 24 credit hours to meet with their academic advisor, then attend New Student Orientation.
Parents, families and other guests
- Up to two parents, family members, guardians or other close relations are encouraged to attend Support Your Roo: Parent and Family Orientation. Cost per guest is $25.
- Please complete the UMKC Parent and Family Orientation module before you attend Orientation.
International students
- All new degree-seeking international students are required to attend International Student Orientation, typically held on the Thursday prior to the start of classes each Fall and Spring, in their first semester.
Online students
- If you are enrolled entirely online, you should review our Online Student Orientation resources before beginning your first course.
