We encourage UMKC faculty and staff, departments, offices and community partners to get involved in our Roo Welcome programming. Help us welcome new and returning Roos to campus!

Roo Welcome is a time for our new and returning students to build relationships with faculty and staff who are dedicated to helping them succeed.

All UMKC faculty and staff serve a vital role in the Roo Welcome experience. UMKC faculty and staff are essential in creating a positive and welcoming experience for our new campus community members. 

Fall Roo Welcome 2024 takes place August 16 - September 6. 

How You Can Help

  • RSVP to Convocation! 
    • Priority RSVP to secure your t-shirt is Friday, May 10, 2024. 
    • Your participation is a testament to our new and returning students that they are joining an engaged and supportive community. 
  • Register your unit/department/office for the Resource Fair. 
  • Encourage any student organizations you advise to register for the Student Organization Fair. 
  • Staff a Roo Welcome event. Be sure to note the date and times associated with each role as listed on the sign up. Roles include:
    • Roo Welcome Programs & Events: 
    • Welcome Tabling: 
  • Encourage your office/department to plan a Roo Welcome event during the first three weeks of the semester. Be sure to submit your event on Roo Groups. 
  • Wear UMKC gear during the first weeks of school.
